Leasing and Long-Term Rentals Manager, Owner

Richard Barry

Born and raised in St. John’s, and a graduate from Memorial University’s Faculty of Business Administration, Richard’s business background and knowledge of the metro area complement his real estate passion.

Teamed up with his wife Tara, they manage the Lighthouse’s long-term rental & leasing relationships.

Besides leasing and managing long-term rentals, Richard’s role extends to safety oversight for long-term and short-term (Airbnb) rentals. His certificate in safety and past-applied experience provides Newground Group clients an informed understanding of industry safety requirements.

Tara Barry

Moving to metro to study business at Memorial University, Tara completed a BBA with a focus in accounting. Besides having an oversight role for the Newground Group’s Airbnb client needs, she co-manages the long-term rental relationships with her husband, Richard. She provides property owners timely market insight and always goes the extra mile.

Blair Patey

Blair is not only an expert when it comes to electrical and plumbing, he’s a real jack-of-all-trades. Homeowners appreciate his insightfulness, problem-solving skills, and cost-effective mindset to property repair and maintenance. Additionally, over the years Blair’s keen eye for preventative maintenance has saved clients thousands of dollars. Homeowners and their tenants regularly acknowledge his hands-on approach to their property maintenance requirements.

Guest Experience Manager

Raquel Thistle

Raquel is New Ground Group’s Airbnb Superhost! She has a passion for making guest experiences great. She provides extra support to the Airbnb relationship manager to help keep New Ground Group’s growing Airbnb management business running smoothly. With years of management level customer service experience, Raquel understands the importance of the small differences to making a five-star experience. Timely guest communication, exceptionally clean property, tastefully decorated, outstanding amenities are all comments repeatedly left by her guests. Raquel’s industry knowledge is indispensable to ensuring your property gets the best reviews and maximum rental income.

Caitlin Leigh

As the Airbnb Supervisor and Head of Cleaning Services, Caitlin does double duty to make sure your property is well-maintained and kept in good hands. She guides our cleaning staff to ensure an optimal clean every time and collaborates with the management team to ensure your property’s unique needs are met.
